Abstract Aim Surgery in the elderly carries greater risk of mortality with those who are frail being most at risk. We aimed to review our outcomes for patients 70 years age and over, underwent emergency laparotomy. Methods All aged over had undergone laparotomy within a 12-month period were included analysis. Patient’s pre-operative was assessed by P-Possum NELA scoring along Rockwood Frailty Scale (RFS) Geriatric rescue after surgery (GRAS) score. Results 50/116 undergoing old. Full data available 47 these. Overall 30- 90-day 12.8% 21.3% respectively. RFS > 4 25% compared 16% score or less. Those GRAS <4 27% Where there P-Possom >10% no difference rates, however when >10%, 90 day 26.6% 15.4%. Conclusion Emergency 70’s much higher death. Mortality frailty assessments useful tools counselling their families prior surgery. Future work will assess predictive value different combined scores this population.
